Adding a New Parent Navigation Item

Step by Step

Begin at the Navigation Module found under Content > Pages > Navigation

    1. Click the New Item button to add a Parent Navigation Label (Level 1). This takes you to the screen to add a new Navigation Label.
    2. Fill in the desired content
      1. Label
The Label is the Title of the Navigation item. A Navigation item lives separate from the content (Page, Event, URL, etc.) it is linked to. Removing a Navigation item does not remove the content it is linked to.
      2. Content
This is the actual bread and butter that you link to. Click the View All button to see all of the items you can link to (Sermons, Articles, Blogs, Events, Pages, Forms). You can also click enter a URL to link to an external or internal URL.
      3. Parent
You will not need to select a Parent as this Navigation item will be the Parent.
      4. Open in a new window
This is a great option for external URLs as the Navigation link will open into a new internet browser window.
    3. Click the Add button to add this Navigation Item to your Navigation tree, or hit Cancel to not add this Navigation Item.
    4. Click the Save and Publish button to publish this new Navigation Item
    5. Click the Discard Changes button to cancel any changes made and start with your previous Navigation structure.
