Sending a screenshot to a web developer takes a lot of time out of defining and solving a potential problem.

How to take a screenshot on Windows

Snipping Tool method

    1. Open the Snipping Tool.
      Start > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool
      Note: if you do not have the Snipping Tool, use the Print Screen method below.

    1. Choose the kind of screenshot you want to make.
      New > [Choose snip]

    1. Select the area you want to capture.

    1. Save the Snip to any location on your computer.

    1. Email the file to your developer or support team.

Print Screen method

Use this method if you do not have the Snipping Tool available.

    1. Press the Print Screen key. The screenshot is copied to the clipboard.
      Typically located above the Insert / Home / Page Up row.

    1. Open Microsoft Paint
      Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint

    1. Paste the screenshot with Ctrl + V
      Or via the menu: Edit > Paste

    1. Save the screenshot to any location on your computer.

    1. Email the file to your developer or support team.

How to take a screenshot on Mac OS

Full screen

    1. Press Shift + Command + 3
      A screenshot is saved to the desktop.

    1. Email the file to your developer or support team.

Selection of screen

    1. Press Shift + Command + 4, then click and drag to select your capture area.
      A screenshot is saved to the desktop.

    1. Email the file to your developer or support team.

How to take a screenshot on iPhone/iPad

  1. Press the Home and the Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously. The screen will flash and a screenshot will be added to the native Photos app.
  2. Open the native Photos app and Share the image by email, or load it onto a computer and send from there.
