Sending a screenshot to a web developer takes a lot of time out of defining and solving a potential problem.
How to take a screenshot on Windows
Snipping Tool method
- Open the Snipping Tool.
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool
Note: if you do not have the Snipping Tool, use the Print Screen method below.
- Choose the kind of screenshot you want to make.
New > [Choose snip]
- Select the area you want to capture.
- Save the Snip to any location on your computer.
- Email the file to your developer or support team.
Print Screen method
Use this method if you do not have the Snipping Tool available.
- Press the Print Screen key. The screenshot is copied to the clipboard.
Typically located above the Insert / Home / Page Up row.
- Open Microsoft Paint
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint
- Paste the screenshot with Ctrl + V
Or via the menu: Edit > Paste
- Save the screenshot to any location on your computer.
- Email the file to your developer or support team.
How to take a screenshot on Mac OS
Full screen
- Press Shift + Command + 3
A screenshot is saved to the desktop.
- Email the file to your developer or support team.
Selection of screen
- Press Shift + Command + 4, then click and drag to select your capture area.

How to take a screenshot on iPhone/iPad
- Press the Home and the Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously. The screen will flash and a screenshot will be added to the native Photos app.
- Open the native Photos app and Share the image by email, or load it onto a computer and send from there.
