Templates

List View

  • Find: Begin typing the name of the content you would like to find and the system will perform a search. NOTE: Do not click the enter key as you type. This will remove the Search terms.
  • Sort Function: When scrolling over the top of the list, the Heading turns dark and an Arrow appears next to the Heading. Once you see the Arrow, simply click the Heading to Sort the List in alpha-numeric order. Click again for a reverse order of the list.
  • Edit Selected: To change the Publish Status or to Delete selected items, click the check boxes to the left of each item. When the boxes are checked, the "Edit Selected" button will turn on next to the Add button. Click "Edit Selected" to change Status or Delete.
  • Edit Content: To edit your content, click the underlined words that are in a different color. When scrolling over the words, a pencil icon will appear and the row will change to a light orange.

Add a New Template

  • Name: This is the name of the template. It will be used to identify it when content is linked to it.
  • File Name: The name of the file on your server.
  • Description: A brief description of the template. Optional.
  • Enabled?: Sets the modules which will be able to use this template
  • Use as default template?: Sets which modules will use this template by default. Only one template can be default per module.
  • Use as search template?: Sets the template which will be used for search. Only one template can be the search template. Uses mcms_page.php by default.
  • Sections: If the template has sections, they will show up here. You can setup which sections will be used by default with the template.

Add New Templates in Bulk

Bulk template manager will scan your server for files that have not already been added to the template manager. Simply check the files which you wish to import and click the 'Import Selected' Button. Once imported you can go back and specify more modules for each template, specify module defaults, and set default sections.

The following template files cannot be imported:

  • monkcms.php
  • monkinstall.php
  • comeback.php
  • xajax.content.common.inc.php
  • xajax.content.server.inc.php
  • ekk_articlepage.php
  • ekk_eventpage.php
  • ekk_events.php
  • ekk_sermonpage.php
  • mcms_directory.php
  • mcms_disc_boards.php
  • mcms_disc_categories.php
  • mcms_disc_comments.php
  • mcms_disc_discussions.php
  • mcms_disc_edit_comment.php
  • mcms_me.php

The following fields will are listed on the bulk template import page:

  • Check box - A check in the checkbox beside the template file name means the template file will be imported, and vice versa.
  • File Name - The file name for the template file. This can not be changed via the bulk template import page.
  • Name - A friendly name associated with the template file.
  • Enable For - Which module to enable the template file for. Only one module can be selected, and the Pages module is selected by default.

Clicking the "Import Selected" button will import the templates. Once imported, the templates will show in the list of templates under Content > Templates.
